Stevenshage Animal Shelter
General information
At Stevenshage Animal Shelter we rescue and rehome dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents and (tame) birds. We accept stray and relinquished animals from our area. This includes Kaag en Braassem, Katwijk (Katwijk, Rijnsburg en Valkenburg), Leiden, Leiderdorp, Oegstgeest, Teylingen (Sassenheim, Voorhout and Warmond), Voorschoten and Zoeterwoude.
Found and available animals
Upon the arrival of stray animals, we take direct care of them. We will try our best to find its owner. Click here for an overview of found pets staying with us. If unsuccessful, we will proceed to put the animal up for adoption after 14 days. Click here to view our animals available for adoption.
Services
We offer boarding services for cats, dogs, rabbits, rodents and tame birds. Furthermore, we sell specific animal supplies including Carnibest natural animal feed. Furthermore, we provide education, raise awareness and facilitate social participation (internships, social workplaces, community service).

We are grateful for all donations. Your generosity will mean that Stevenshage Animal Shelter can go on caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents and birds in need. If you wish to contribute, you can do this is several ways:
- Make a one off financial donation
- Adopt a dog kennel, cat pod or rabbit hutch
- Sign up as a recurring sponsor
- Donate pet related items, such as leads, collars, food, treats, toys and blankets
- Donate household and office supplies, such as cleaning items, towels and printer paper
- Sign up as a volunteer (basic Dutch proficiency required)

Opening hours
We only work by appointment. It is not possible to come to our facilities and meet the animals without an appointment. All our available animals are present on our website. If you are interested in a specific animal, send us an e-mail with as much information as possible about yourself, your family, your home-situation, plus your telephone number.
